CONTRIBUTOR GUIDELINES.

Please follow these guidelines when preparing your article. Remember that our mission is to make wellness a reality for all people, not just for the fitness elites or the crunchy.

Voice

  • Your audience is your own, so stay encouraged to keep your voice and personality to gain a following that is true to the truest you. 

  • Use clear, conversational language.

  • Avoid jargon or abbreviations, even common ones, unless explained in your content.

  • Aim for an approachable tone, but never mask your personality.

Format

  • Submit your article as a docx file format to your contributor upload page.

  • Word count: 800–1,200.

  • Use headings and subheadings for clarity.

  • Include sources with hyperlinks where possible.

Style Basics

  • We follow AP Style (with Oxford comma).

  • U.S. spelling and punctuation, unless you are from the UK. Select and remain consistent with spelling style throughout your entire article.

  • Use one space after a period.

  • Numbers: spell out one through nine, use numerals for 10 and above.

Originality and AI

  • Submissions must be original, unpublished work, unless the other media outlet granted permission.

  • If you have a blog, Medium, Substack, Wix, Weebly, or other blogger’s platform and your content is wholly yours, PIHA currently accepts previously published work of this kind.

  • Do not submit plagiarized or AI-generated text without disclosure.

  • Using AI to brainstorm, create outlines, or as a supplement to your writing process is acceptable with reservations. Please refrain from allowing AI to do your writing. Further AI guidelines will be provided, as well as tips on how to use AI effectively and ethically in the world of publication.

Process

  • Upload submission-ready work

  • If necessary, you may receive light edits for grammar, clarity, and flow.

  • We may request revisions before publication.

  • By submitting, you grant Teope Media LLC the right to publish your article online, in digital editions, and use in print or product.
